I am a chef living in the Chamonix valley, France, with my girlfriend Aine and my dog Baldric. I ski, climb, and cook.

I started learning to ski just a little while after learning to walk, and I spent my first winter in the Alps as soon as I left school. I moved to Chamonix about eight years ago, when I began climbing.

  1. Peter I have enjoyed reading your stories and moments of adventure skiing. I will be making a trip to the Alps this coming winter where I will stay in Andermatt at a hostel style hotel. Like you I also am a professional cook except much older and yet at 70 I still make it uphill to ski fresh virgin powder. I also write, but use my backcountry experiences to inspire fiction short stories and a book I am almost finished with, editing mostly. I have been lucky enough to have been published with several of my short stories, but they don’t come near to the adventure scale of your skiing in the Alps.
Keep writing, skiing, climbing and cooking. It makes for great reading.

    • Thanks very much Phil, it’s kind of you to say! I’m glad if other people get to enjoy my time spent outside even a fraction as much as I do.

Thank you for the comment. Might you have any link to your own writing?
